STAKeM Systems (“STAKeM”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides the DriverSync mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how DriverSync accesses, collects, uses, stores, shares and deletes personal and device information.
1. Information DriverSync may process
The exact information used depends on the features enabled by the participating site and the functions you use.

2. Permissions and device features
DriverSync may request device permissions only when needed for an enabled feature:
- Camera: used to scan a supported pairing QR code. DriverSync does not need to keep a photo of the QR code after it has been interpreted for pairing.
- Bluetooth / nearby devices: used to discover or communicate with supported nearby terminals where Bluetooth pairing is enabled.
- Location: may be used if a participating site enables location-assisted site or terminal discovery. DriverSync does not use location information for advertising.
- Network access: used to communicate with STAKeM services and participating site systems over secure network connections.
You can control operating-system permissions through your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related DriverSync feature from working.
3. How information is used
We use DriverSync information to provide the app, authenticate users, connect users to compatible terminals, process site workflows, provide support, maintain security, diagnose faults, prevent misuse and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell DriverSync personal information and we do not use DriverSync personal information for third-party advertising.
4. When information may be shared
Information may be shared only where reasonably necessary for the service, including with:
- Participating site operators when the information forms part of a site workflow or transaction.
- Service providers that provide hosting, infrastructure, security, diagnostics or support services on our behalf and are required to protect the information they process.
- Authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law, needed to protect rights or safety, or necessary to investigate misuse or security incidents.
5. Security
STAKeM uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information being processed. These may include encrypted network transport, authenticated services, access controls, short-lived pairing/session credentials, logging and secure credential storage provided by the mobile operating system.
No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security. Users should also protect their device, account credentials and access to their email account.
6. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide DriverSync, to meet security/support needs, or to satisfy legal and legitimate operational record-keeping requirements.
Some operational transactions may be controlled or retained by a participating site operator for business, audit, legal, safety or regulatory reasons. Account deletion does not necessarily require a site operator to erase a transaction record that it is independently required or entitled to retain; where possible, personal account information will be removed or disassociated from records that must lawfully remain.
7. Account and data deletion
DriverSync users can request deletion of their account and associated personal data. The external deletion request process is available at Delete DriverSync account/data.
We may need to verify that the requester controls the account before deleting data. After verification, data is deleted or de-identified unless retention is required for legal, fraud-prevention, security or legitimate operational record-keeping purposes.
8. Children
DriverSync is an operational application intended for adult drivers, employees, contractors and other authorised site users. It is not designed for children and is not directed to children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when DriverSync features, legal obligations or data-handling practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
